But before going to the preparation of this drink, it is necessary to understand the mechanisms of its ingredients. Let’s start with the lemon:

A citrus fruit antioxidant, draining and stimulating digestion
Rich in vitamin C, lemon is a citrus fruit that stands out for its ability to detoxify the body, especially when it is faced with an accumulation of waste. That’s why one of grandma’s tricks is to drink a glass of lemon water the day after a party or a heavy meal!

Indeed, the citric acid content of this fruit stimulates the production of bile in the liver, which favors digestion, especially of fatty foods, explains Florence Foucaut, member of the French Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists.

Moreover, its diuretic action allows to clean the body, specifies the expert. Toxins are eliminated more quickly, in particular those which come from our food.

Parsley, a slimming ally and a natural diuretic
Ideal for stimulating weight loss, parsley is a great ally in achieving our slimming goals. However, be careful not to give in to the miraculous promises that abound on the internet. Its consumption is only beneficial in the context of a balanced diet! Indeed, parsley has an effective diuretic action to promote the elimination of toxins and stimulate digestion. But for that, it is necessary to pay attention to its food to act in complement of the benefits of this aromatic plant.

Moreover, it contains many vitamins and minerals, while bringing to the organization only very few calories. Not to mention its content of apigenin, a compound belonging to the flavonoid family which, according to some scientists, could act in preventing obesity. Indeed, according to an in-vivo study published by the journal Plos One, apigenin has prevented the increase of fatty tissue in rodents following a high-fat diet.
