Treat thyroid desease with this simple exercise

The thyroid gland is a butterfly shaped endocrine gland in the neck, and it helps in regulating the body metabolism and its functions. When the function of the thyroid gland is impaired due to diseases, the body‘s functioning processes and metabolism are affected.

The good news is that there are various exercises including yoga that can alleviate the symptoms and signs of thyroid disease.

Thyroid disease can cause a lot of discomforts for our everyday life based on its function. This disease can lead to various signs and symptoms that can interfere with our normal way of life. It was discovered that different kinds of exercise could help in alleviating this signs and symptoms.

The fish pose




1. Lie on your back with your legs extended and place your hands under the buttocks.
2. Press your elbows and forearms into the floor, lift your chest and neck toward the ceiling and rest the crown of the head on the floor.
3. Stay in fish pose for 15 to 30 seconds.

MINDFULNESS PRACTICE

Don’t put any pressure on your head and neck. Breathe slowly and use the arms, glutes, legs and torso to support the posture

The pigeon pose

1. Start on your hands and knees and bring your left knee forward and out to the left side.
2. Slide your right leg back and tuck your right toes under.
3. Spread your left toes, elongate the spine and gaze up.
4. Stay in pigeon pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then repeat with the opposite leg.



MINDFULNESS PRACTICE

Start with your knees under your hips and your hands slightly in front of your shoulders. Bring your left knee forward and out to the left, position your left foot in front of your right knee and rest the outside of your left foot on the floor. Slide your right leg back, straighten the knee, tuck your toes under and push through the fingertips to lift your torso up and lengthen the spine. Keep your hips squared, press your tailbone down and forward, open the chest and gaze up

The pigeon pose helps in boosting the functioning ability of the thyroid gland.

The bridge pose

1. Lie on your back, bend both knees and place your feet flat on the floor.
2. Slide the arms alongside the body and clasp the hands below your pelvis.
3. Press the feet, shoulders and arms into the floor, inhale and lift the hips and the chest up.
4. Stay in bridge pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

MINDFULNESS PRACTICE
Breathe out as you lift your hips and chest up, feel the stretch in your chest, neck, spine, and hips, notice the blood flowing and breathe slowly. Exhale as you roll the spine back onto the floor.
